Last week we received a call from a customer that had a Nash vacuum pump with a broken shaft. He said that production was down. We told them we could replace the shaft within 2 days. The rotor was delivered to our shop on Thursday and was scheduled for pick up by Saturday morning. We pressed the broken shaft out of the rotor using our 20 ton hydraulic press. We reverse engineered and manufactured a new shaft in our machine shop. The pump was reassembled and ready on Saturday as promised.
